Welcome to iSnob
iSnob is dedicated to expressing the insightful and unfortunately all-too-uncommon opinions of Augustus Specter on topics ranging from Pop Culture and Politics to Relationships and Language.
The term "Snob" is being lovingly used to mean "a person who is contemptuous of the popular taste in some field and is attracted to esoteric or learned things for their own sake." (World Book Dictionary, 2004). This form of snobbery is quite different than the arrogant or rank-obsessed materialistic snobbery that one encounters all too often. Indeed, it is my hope that iSnob will infect others with a keen eye towards contemptuousness that cause more to question the stupidity that surrounds us every day.
So here is a perfect example of a snobservation that you will see posted regularly here, and soon at iSnob.com:
Today I found myself eating at the food court of a rather large mall. My kids will eat the food at Panda Express. Their favorite is the chicken with string beans. For some reason Panda Express does not always offer this dish, however. It appears they believe it is important to rotate their dishes in an effort to increase variety. WHY? Anyone who eats at a Panda Express so often that menu rotation is needed to enhance variety lacks the taste to require such a service! Panda Express is fast food. It is not supposed to be eaten regularly. They should leave the menu alone.
